Well, this has been a very strange week, website-wise. The problems began with very slow performance of the site. I pushed the hosting company to address that problem and in doing so, they created an even worse problem – knocking us off line for several days. When I pressed them on that, they came up with a logical explanation that, had it been correct, would have taken 48 hours to resolve. So we waited the 48 hours. But their diagnosis was wrong and, after installing an entirely new version of the blog last night, the same problem (“error connecting to database”) gradually returned. So I switched hosting companies which I trust will leave our difficulties behind. After one false start, here we are again, hopefully for good.

Are we on Greenwich time?

We were on Greenwich time until you pointed that out. Now we’re on EST. I thought I would have 24 hours until this started showing up again. I’m thrilled – but shocked – that switching the URL from one host to another cycled thru the internet, it appears, in about 15 minutes. Although with the luck I’ve been having this week, nothing would startle me.
