Salem's announcement set off a pretty funny chain on Twitter - The Phoenix's Talking Politics blogger David Bernstein retweted Salem's tweet announcing the new slogan and asked folks to share their town slogan ideas using the #MATownSlogans hashtag. The hashtag became one of the top trending topics for Boston and had me laughing out loud.

Bernstein's blog post: http://thephoenix.com/BLOGS/talkingpolitics/archive/2011/02/17/town-slogans-galore-on-twitter.aspx

#MATownSlogans hashtag search on Twiter: http://twitter.com/#!/search?q=%23MATownSlogans

My personal favorite entry: "Nantucket: Lynn, you think YOU'VE got rhyming problems?"
