Wow Dean! Let’s wait a bit before we say he is better than two of baseball’s all time greats. He needs to do this for at least ten years to be placed in the same sentence as Teddy Ballgame, the greatest pure hitter ever.
Bob, we know he runs the bases better than Ted. Also, he plays a outfield better than Ted. There throwing arms are both about avg. Remember I said all around.
Yes to the areas where he is better – though left field in Fenway requires no arm. I guess my response was more based on the long haul and maybe because of my dad’s influence on my baseball introduction, Ted remains the man. I still remember standing in awe at Cooperstown in front of the Williams display and the incredible exhibit of how selective he was as a hitter. In left, one does not need to play much but the wall – though Yaz probably did that better than anyone I’ve ever seen out there.

Better all around palyer than Ted Williams. Maybe as good or better than Ty Cobb.
