Lowell High boys win state cross country championship

As reported on boston.com, the Lowell High School boys cross country team won its first ever state championship today in Northfield. While the team did not place a runner in the top ten, six of the Lowell runners finished in the top 35. This team effort was enough to give Lowell the championship. So congratulations to coach Phil Maia, whose been coaching the team for 25 years, and to all the student-athletes who participated today and throughout the season.
