Just a reminder about the coming the Greater Lowell Community Foundation Grant proposal deadline – it’s Tuesday July 1, 2014. A letter from GLCF Executive Director Susan Winship spells out the details and shows the community the scope of what the Foundation supports. This year the Distribution Committee with Trustee approval will grant $94,500  to be awarded at the “Celebrate Giving” gathering on September 18, 2014. (My disclosure ~ I have been a member of the Distribution Committee since 1998 and continue to serve.)

The Greater Lowell Community Foundation (GLCF) is pleased to announce its 2014 Discretionary Grants Program… This year, we have new and exciting funding opportunities! In 2014, we have $94,500 available to fund 19 projects. Grant categories include:

Creative Economy Grant—one two-year grant of $15,000

Substance Prevention Grant—one grant of $7,500

Social Enterprise Grant—two grants of $5,000

Healthy Communities Grant—two grants of $5,000

Water Resources Initiative—three grants of $5,000

Leclair Elder Services Grant—four grants of $5,000

Children’s Services Grant—two grants of $3,500

Leadership Program Grant—four grants of $2,500

The deadline to submit a grant is Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at noon…
